CAUTION: BEWARE OF SCAMMERS FROM CANADA

THIS WARNING IS DIRECTED AT THE PRESIDENTIAL SECRETARIAT, PRIME MINISTER’S OFFICE, FOREIGN MINISTRY, SLEDB, BOI, CEYLON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, SRI LANKA-CANADA BUSINESS COUNCIL AND ALL OTHER TRADE CHAMBERS IN SRI LANKA!
The Canada-Sri Lanka Business Council (CSLBC) does not take ownership for posting an advertisement in the Daily Mirror in the last 2 weeks indicating that a Canadian delegation is planning a visit to Sri Lanka. This is the work of a “scammer” from Toronto who is taking a new identity in Sri Lanka as Director, Projects of Maharaja Organisation. According to news received by us, he is using an email address of, [email protected] which is not our email address. This violates trademark laws prevalent in Canada but scammers do not worry too much about violating the laws of the land, so they think. We have passed this matter to our Director, Legal of the Council who is proceeding action in this regard, as we speak.
Please do not be misled that the advertisement in the Daily Mirror is authentic and originated by Canada-Sri Lanka Business Council. We are taking action to inform the above institutions personally about this invasion of our proprietary rights.
